A Workshop on Operational Issues – Loans & Advances, Recovery and Inspection was conducted for the Managers, Accountants and Loan officers of MCC Bank Ltd., on 10th & 11th August, 2024, at the Staff Training Centre, Administrative Office, Mangalore.
The Workshop was inaugurated by the chairman, Mr Anil Lobo, by lighting the lamp. In his keynote address, he stressed upon the purpose and need for such workshops. He called upon the participants to upgrade their knowledge on Banking, especially the knowledge on Loans & Advances which are the Assets for the Bank and which generate income for the bank. He opined that complete knowledge on Loans & Advances will reduce the stress of the participants (Managers/Accountants /Loan Officers) while dealing with their customers/borrowers. He emphasized the importance of Post Compliance in case of Loans, through which safety of the assets, Loans & Advances, of the Bank can be ensured. He reiterated that negligence in rendering good service to the borrowers will not be tolerated.
He also called upon the participants to be vigilant in terms of recovery of loans as recovery of loans plays a vital role in the well being of the bank and its constituents. He called upon the participants to take full advantage of the work shop and to improve their knowledge; which will reduce the work load and dependency at the work place.
Mr Maxim Castelino, Credit Advisor, Mr S.H. Visweswaraiah, Advisor, Mr Deril Lasrado, Senior Manager (Recovery), Mrs Wilma Jyothi Sequeira, Manager Kulshekar Branch, Mr Ovin Rebello, Manager Brahmavar Branch and Mr Ajith Dsouza, Credit Officer were the resource persons for the work shop.
The main topics of the workshop were Loan Policy & guidelines, Financial Statements & ratio analysis, Audit compliance, Operational aspects of loans & Advances in CBS software, Generation of related Reports, Recovery under SARFAESI Act-2002, Aspects of Recovery of loans and group activities on Interaction with customer/borrower, preparation of office note, documentation and post sanction compliance.
Mr Maxim Castelino, Credit Advisor, enlightened the participants on the Loan Policy of the Bank and the Loan Guidelines. He also guided the participants on the subjects of Processing of Loan proposals, Documentation and Post Sanction compliance.
Mr. Visweswaraih, Advisor of the Bank, shared his knowledge on Financial Statements and Ratio Analysis, which is essential in processing the Loan Proposals.
Mr OVin Rebello, Manager of Kundapura Branch and Mrs Wilma J. Sequeira, Manager of Kulshekar Branch, conducted the sessions on Operational aspects of loans & advances in CBS.
Mr. Deril J. Lasrado, Senior Manager (Recovery) shared his knowledge on Recovery under SARFAESI Act and Aspects of Recovery of Loans. He also conducted a session on Audit compliance.
Mr Ajith D’souza, Accountant of Credit Department, conducted Sessions on Processing of Loan Proposals.
Mr Maxim Castelino cleared the doubts of the participants on the procession of loan proposals, preparation of office note and post compliance through group activity and enhanced the knowledge of the participants.
The interactive session was conducted by the General Manager, Mr Sunil Menezes who shared his inputs during the work shop.
